The Steelers’ leading tackler, Shazier lowered his head to stop Bengals receiver Josh Malone less than four minutes into Monday’s game. Shazier, in his fourth year from Ohio State, had his hands over his head when carted off the field.
He was in “good spirits” on Wednesday and several of his teammates, including quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, said they’ve been sending their thoughts and prayers to him while preparing to face the Ravens on Sunday.
Robert Woods, Los Angeles Rams, shoulder, (Q), 4:25 p.m. ET: Woods suffered a shoulder injury in Week 11 and was expected to be out for several weeks. Although the Rams have said there was no definitive timetable for his return, coach Sean McVay hinted at Week 15 as the most likely target. Woods returned to some limited practice Friday, his first practice since suffering the injury. Although he is listed as questionable, one limited practice is not likely enough to deem him ready to return to competition. It would not be surprising if Woods gets another week to work his way back to action.
Mike Williams is in jeopardy of missing some game time.
The Chargers’ rookie wide receiver will undergo an MRI on his injured right knee Friday after getting hurt in the team’s win over the Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day, NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported.
According to the report, Williams’ ACL is intact but the team is concerned that he could be sidelined a few games.
After being limited in practice all week with a knee injury, Williams was carted off the field in the first quarter of Thursday’s meeting and ruled out for the remainder of the game. He was later seen leaving the stadium using crutches with a large brace on his right leg.
