The 10-year veteran running back made the announcement Wednesday on Twitter, thanking members of the league and others for guiding him along the way.

Like so many others before me, this game has enhanced my life in numerous ways, Forte wrote, in part. (N)ot only did I get to live out my childhood dream in playing for the Bears, but also it was here (in Chicago) where I fell in Love with my beautiful wife Danielle and started a family of my own. … I’d like to thank the New York Jets organization for the past two years. He gets steals in bunches while also providing scoring, rebounding and assists with 13.4 PPG, 6.4 RPG and 4.2 APG during his past five games.

Maurice Harkless, SF, Portland Trail Blazers (1.7 percent) — Harkless has played nearly 28.0 MPG during his past five games, and during that stretch, he has recorded a whopping 11 steals (2.2 SPG). He’s totally off the fantasy radar of most people but is worth considering if you’re streaming for steals.

That was a weird process, Dickson said, via Pro Football Talk. The first time I did terrible. I only lasted for 14 seconds, but my third time I had figured out a technique to look around the room just to get your eyes a little watery, I guess.

The former Texas punter and Australian native was MVP of the Texas Bowl and decided to forgo his senior season to enter the NFL Draft. Dickson averaged 47.4 yards per punt last season and was the Ray Guy Award winner. He then capped his career at Texas by dropping seven punts inside the 10, with 10 inside the 15, and did not have a single touchback in 11 punts during a 33-16 win over Missouri in the Texas Bowl.

Each prospect at the NFL Combine goes through 15-minute interviews with each NFL team and players are often asked strange questions. A staring contest, which holds no actual football value, might be a first.
